Our approach

Infrastructure development in Central Africa rarely fails for technical reasons. It fails on the quality of preparation, the reliability of the data and the credibility of the sponsor. Our method addresses those three things.

01

State the real stage of the project

A project in early-stage development is not a financed project. We publish a maturity ladder with its transition criteria, and we place each project on it. A financial institution that reads "200 MW" without qualification concludes that the sponsor does not know the business.

02

One single source of truth

Each project has one versioned reference document that supersedes its predecessors, tied to a single financial model. When an assumption is revised, earlier documents are withdrawn from circulation rather than left to coexist.

03

Separate assumption from established fact

Our documents distinguish explicitly between data validated by an independent third party, sponsor estimates and working assumptions. A yield estimate not validated by an independent consultant is presented as such, never as a result.

04

Prepare to lender standards from the outset

Environmental and social impact assessment to IFC Performance Standards, stakeholder engagement plan, risk management framework, source register. These are prepared early because they condition access to concessional finance.

05

Run competitive processes - including against our own estimates

Sponsor capital cost estimates remain estimates until a competitive tender confirms them. We plan for that tender from the outset and test the variance through sensitivity analysis.

06

Anchor the project locally

We work with a local partner holding genuine technical and operational capability, and with the competent public authority. Skills transfer to local teams is part of the arrangement, not part of the communications.

What we do not do

We do not present a pipeline as acquired experience. We do not publish a partner, client or institutional logo without written authorisation. We do not display a testimonial we could not produce on request. And we do not claim any leadership position: our portfolio holds one project in development, which justifies no superlative whatsoever.
